What word would sum this sexy little beauty? STUNNING!
Naim are no strangers to Hifi and it certainly shows in this cute little box. They should have named this Pandoras box as it has so much in there that you don’t know its untrue. For an all-in-one system this packs some serious gear under its hood.
Lets take a look at some of the features
On offer is a CD player but no ordinary Cd player, this offers an onboard DAC. The unit can stream music using the digital audio streamer, there is a front USB panel to plug your iPod in which you can control using the iPod control via Naim n-link, there is an FM and DAB tuner, it has ethernet and built in WIFI and it even has a power DIN for use with Naim phono stage.
If this doesn’t wet your apetite then you need help. This is one box you need to own.

Denon have done it again. What a tasty piece of kit!
Denon are no beginner when it comes to audio and it really does show with this amazing piece of kit. While some of us have the luxary of having the space for a full separate system there are others who are not so fortunate…..Denon was aware of this and have been providing these people with simple all-in-one systems that pack a punch to compete with the likes of seperates. Although not quite the same it does offer a worthy choice if space is limited.
There is not much new from this to the Denon D-M37 but what is new is worth investing in. On offer is the new direct digital input for an iPod which was sadly lacking in the D-M37 and also the D-M38 has had the sound quality improved by giving it more power and a DAB+ service.
Overall this is truely a superb piece of kit. Highly recommended.

Firstly we’ll talk about the looks. … This has it all, it’s sleek curves and modern look swill surely impress you for sure, It offers a wide variety of features but sadly this doesn’t help when the music delivery is not right at all.
Philips have pulled the stops out when it comes to the look as we have already said and it seems their concentation was soley used for the looks. The unit contains a class D digital amp offering 50W per channel with wiress conection for those who stream music as well as wired option.
It contains a 160GB disc drive which is external strangely enough which you have to connect via USB….very poor we think. It also comes with iPod compatibility. The box also plays DVD’s and video files that can be watched through the HDMI port which is useful but sadly still can’t save this failure.
This system would be great if the price tag was around the £200 mark, but sadly its not. If you can get hold of one for that price you’ll be very pleased with your purchase, but as it is priced now? Avoid.
